Standards! Why you should learn from Gordon Ramsay.
So most people who have watched Gordon Ramsay in action, can't be blamed for thinking he is a dickhead.
If you are a "most person" I'm sorry to tell you that you are just wrong about him. Oh and you are probably also a standard-less donkey. Sure Ramsay can get very angry, very abusive and down right mean, but at the end of the day he only gets that way when something does not meet his standards 100%.
That is how it should be, that is how we all need to be. I'm not just talking about food, I am talking aboutEVERYTHING! You need to have high standards, and most importantly you need to demand that your standards are met. Don't settle for ok, don't settle for alright.
As for what your standards should be set at, shoot for the moon. Think about it, you should only be doing things that you are passionate about, right? So if you passionate about what you are doing why would you even consider accepting anything less than the best.
Your work, the things you do, the things you make, are all a reflection of you. Thus you will only ever be as good as the last thing you do. As Apples Tim Cook said,
“It’s about finding your values, and committing to them. It’s about finding your North Star. It’s about making choices. Some are easy. Some are hard. And some will make you question everything.”
It's not alright to charge people money for rubbish, if your approach to business is, "I want to get rich as quickly as possible", you might as well just become a full-time car thief. As you are no better than a common criminal.
Make / sell things that add real value to people's lives. Treat everything you put into the world as your baby, be proud of it, pour your heart into it. Make it the best you possibly can.
Again I am not just talking about food, I am talking about everything you will ever do. Because at the end of the day, if you are going to do something, do it bloody properly.
